Volkswagen recently revealed the facelifted Multivan T7 and an updated California, bringing subtle exterior changes and new cabin technology. ABT Sportsline has used the update as the basis for a factory-backed “refinement package,” adding a touch of GTI-inspired character to both van models.
The modifications are aimed at customers seeking a more distinctive vehicle for family journeys, business shuttle duties or campsite visits. They primarily target the vans’ appearance and handling, while performance enhancements will also be offered.
The front end receives a prominent splitter and dedicated trim for the side intakes, giving the vans a more assertive look. The bodykit also brings high-gloss black side skirts and a matching rear bumper extension incorporating a diffuser. ABT is not adding a rear spoiler because the standard van already has a sufficiently large one.

The biggest exterior change comes from ABT’s 20-inch Halo alloy wheels, which feature a diamond-cut finish. They can be paired with optional lowering springs that reduce ground clearance by 30 mm (1.2 in). While the lower setup could sharpen handling on paved roads, it may be less suitable for the California camper.
ABT has also announced an upcoming ABT Power upgrade intended to “unlock the engine’s full potential.” It will likely target the turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine used extensively across the Volkswagen Group range. The Multivan T7 is also offered with turbodiesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains, with the electrified version producing up to 242 hp (180 kW / 245 PS).
The ABT “refinement package” for the Volkswagen Multivan T7 and its California counterpart will soon launch in Germany, though pricing has not yet been revealed. Customers will be able to purchase or lease the kit through the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles online configurator.
The package can also be retrofitted later as an aftermarket upgrade. Since the facelift’s styling revisions center largely on the Multivan T7’s front bumper, most of the components may also fit pre-facelift models.

ABT’s new refinement package gives the facelifted VW Multivan T7 and California camper a more aggressive appearance through revised aero components and 20-inch Halo wheels. Optional lowering springs and a forthcoming ABT Power upgrade add handling and performance potential. The package will soon be offered in Germany through Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ configurator, with pricing still to be confirmed.
