Alfa Romeo is a brand built on passion, and at next month’s Paris Motor Show it will reveal a dramatic concept that it describes as “the car every Alfista has long been waiting for.” It is a bold claim from an Italian automaker under pressure to deliver something truly special.
The first preview came in a short social-media video, accompanied by a catchy soundtrack and flashes of some of Alfa Romeo’s most iconic production cars and concepts from the past several decades. The automaker has since published a separate teaser image that offers a slightly clearer look at the project.
It is difficult to identify exactly what the teaser depicts, although it may show part of the rear of the car, including what appears to be a large air intake. Alfa Romeo calls the concept a “vision for the future,” suggesting that it could introduce design features destined to appear on upcoming models.
Alfa Romeo says the concept “draws inspiration from Italy” and will offer the sportiness, dynamism, and driving pleasure expected from the brand’s cars. Its bright red finish should only strengthen its visual appeal.
A Possible New Halo Car?
Alfa Romeo shared the teaser in a post on its official Instagram account.
Alfa Romeo has not said whether it intends to put a production model based on the concept into series. We would welcome it as a new halo car, particularly if it costs considerably less than the multi-million-dollar 33 Stradale.
Earlier this year, Alfa Romeo previewed its next-generation compact SUV, which will eventually replace the Tonale. The newcomer is expected to compete with models such as the BMW X2, Cupra Formentor, and Audi Q3 Sportback.
