Avatr, the Chinese automaker backed by major shareholders including Changan and CATL, will launch in Europe next year. After more than three years of preparation, the company says Norway and Spain will be its first European markets.
The European expansion was announced at the Paris Motor Show, where Avatr outlined plans to build sales, service and partner networks in Norway and Spain. The 06T and 07L are confirmed among the initial models: the former is a streamlined estate, while the latter is a luxury SUV. Six additional models will follow over the next three years.
The Avatr T09 will be one of those future models. Shown in Paris through the T09 Concept, it is planned as a full-size flagship SUV aimed at rivals such as the Li Auto L9, Aito M9 and Zeekr 9X, along with luxury vehicles including the Mercedes-Maybach GLS and Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
Luxury is at the heart of the T09

Chinese filings have already disclosed many details about the production T09. It will be offered as a range-extender EV, with one powertrain combining a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four producing 141 horsepower (105 kW), a 241 hp (180 kW) front motor and rear electric motors delivering 415 hp (310 kW). A second setup will pair a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated at 201 hp (150 kW) with a 241 hp (180 kW) front motor and two 302 hp (225 kW) rear motors. Both Chinese-market versions will use a 71.24 kWh battery, though it remains unknown whether European models will share these specifications.
Although its European arrival is only now taking shape, Avatr already operates in more than 70 countries and regions and is targeting 110 by 2030. The company has sold more than 280,000 vehicles to date. Its global design center is located in Munich, where designers collaborate with the Shanghai team on vehicles intended to attract buyers worldwide.

Justin Li, Avatr’s head of Overseas Business, said at an event in Paris: “Avatr has been a global brand from the very beginning. Over the next three years, six models will be launched in Europe spanning mid‑size SUVs, large SUVs and shooting‑brake body styles. In 2027, Norway and Spain will serve as AVATR’s European launch markets, where the AVATR 06T and 07L will make their European debut, officially embarking on a new journey for AVATR in Europe.”
Across Europe, Avatr plans to work with local dealers and service partners while supporting owners throughout the vehicle lifecycle through a European spare-parts logistics network and roadside assistance.

Avatr will begin its European expansion in 2027 with launches in Norway and Spain, led by the 06T estate and 07L SUV. The brand plans to introduce eight models across the region within three years, including the flagship T09 range-extender SUV. With more than 280,000 vehicles sold globally, Avatr is also building European sales, service, parts and roadside-assistance networks.
