Kia recently revealed the new PV7 van ahead of its launch in the second half of 2027, but the smaller PV5 remains the brand’s main LCV until then. Alongside the enclosed Cargo and Passenger models, the PV5 is available as a Chassis variant, providing a foundation for a wide range of conversions.

The PV5 Chassis keeps the futuristic front-end design of its siblings, while its rear section is removed to expose the bare chassis and create a two-seat cabin. Measuring 4,610 mm (181.5 in) in length, the LCV features a custom bulkhead with a rear windshield, plus taillights mounted directly to the steel beams. Like the other PV5 vans, it can be fitted with 16-inch steel wheels and hubcaps or 16-inch alloy wheels, and uses the same 2,995 mm (117.9 in) wheelbase.

The chassis version is designed to support aftermarket conversions such as refrigerated vans, box vans, mobile workshops, dropside pickups, tippers, ambulances, service vans and compact campers. Kia has already displayed a PV5 fitted with an integrated kitchen to create a food truck. The automaker says additional conversions will arrive later this year through its UK partner, TGS Automotive Group.

Although its cabin has a utilitarian two-seat layout, the PV5 Chassis retains equipment offered in its van siblings, including a 7.5-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, heated seats and a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, and a comprehensive ADAS suite.

A year and a half after the production-specification Kia PV5 lineup debuted, the automaker has introduced the PV5 Chassis in the UK. It is offered exclusively in Long Range form, with a front-mounted electric motor producing 161 hp (120 kW / 163 PS) and a 71.2 kWh battery pack. Estimated WLTP range is 259 miles (416 km) on a full charge.

In other markets, the PV5 Chassis is also available in Mid-Range specification, pairing a smaller 51.5 kWh battery with an electric motor producing 120 hp (89 kW / 122 PS). Both the Long Range and Mid-Range versions have a maximum payload of 1,005 kg (2,216 pounds), placing them close to many diesel-powered midsize pickups.
